3 Things Your Online Casino Web Site Needs to be Successful

The online gaming market has gone global.  Excluding the United States, the online gross gaming yield in 2012 was €25.3 billion, up 7.7% from the previous year.  With a projected annual growth rate of 7.3%, this may be an industry you want to get into.  If you are able to take the necessary steps of choosing a game vendor, obtaining your license and picking a payment provider, there is still the matter of building your website.

Here are a few things you need to consider to make your website attractive to visitors.

1. A visually appealing design – Your homepage will be the first thing visitors see when they arrive on the site.  It should be engaging and tell them who you are, what you offer and why should stick with you rather than another company.  This would be the time to hire a professional designer or invest in a template service.  The home page is an ideal place to showcase current promotions.  William Hill Casino promotes their £150 free welcome bonus, for example.  Make sure your design includes clear instructions on how to get started playing.  People will not be interested in reading through pages of content before understanding the next steps to game on your site.  Having a big “Get Started” button or “Next Steps” call out would be helpful.

2. Develop trust.  Before website visitors can trust you with their payment information, they need to know it will stay secure.  Thoroughly fill out your about page with concrete information about your company including a variety of contact details.  Share your privacy policy to show visitors how their information will be used.  If you have partnerships with known companies like playtech (for game access) and thawte (for payment processing), put these logos on your site.  These things show that you are not a fly by night organization but a legitimate company.

3. Offer a variety of simple funding options – Again, develop credibility by developing relationships with major payment processors, such as Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, etc.  Remember that your site visitors may come from a variety of countries, so choose options that take $, €, £ and more to capture these potential customers.  Explain how and when funds will be taken out, when funds will be credited and how refunds are processed, if at all.

Building these components into your online gaming site will help ensure that it is thought of reputable, entertaining and one to visit when looking for gaming fun.
